Incorporating? There are
always hard questions that go along with this decision and it isn't
an easy one to make. There are benefits and disadvantages and
you need to be aware of these as you contemplate taking this
important step. We do not have all the answers, and we cannot
make the decision for you. We cannot even advise you on how to
proceed, you need a professional person beyond our scope of
expertise for that. But we can shed a little light on the
process for you and maybe help you arrive at the harder questions
you need to ask before proceeding. And then we can assist you

Desire a Web Presence?
Many people are still somewhat in the dark when it comes to the
internet and the wonderful benefit of having a presence on the web.
That is a thought that is very understandable. It is a complex
"web" that is woven in such a way that the layman can and often does
become lost. We have prepared a list of
Frequently Asked
Questions regarding having a webpage presence, and
also are pleased to share an
article that highlights this as well. You may
find the answers you seek in these two items. |
Need a Word or its
Meaning? This
may seem like a simple given, but oftentimes it is something that
slips by us. When writing we may come upon a word that we
think is correct, but are just not certain. If that is the
case, then it is best to err or the side of caution and look it up.
I like to use
Merriam-Webster Online.
It has a dictionary and also a thesaurus - tools that a writer
cannot exist without.

California Business Laws
Confusing? You can
say that again! When in doubt, look it up. I visit the
California
Secretary of State website quite often. Many valuable
tools and resources are listed here in plain sight and in laymen's
terms. You just have to dig sometimes, but eventually you get
there. |

Have a Great & Unique Idea?
Then maybe you are considering a
patent or trademark. This is
sometimes the best first decision you can make - to protect your
investment. But how do you do it? Well for starters it
is a good idea to review the information provided at the
US Patent and
Trademark Office. If after reviewing you still cannot
make heads or tails of the information there, rest assured that you
are not alone. Often you wonder if after reviewing all that is
listed there, if it is worth your time, effort and also money to
proceed along this track. Well bare in mind that once your
idea is out there, if you haven't take the appropriate legal steps
to protect it, all could be lost - in a fight in a court of law!
If nothing else, protect yourself by considering a
Provisional Patent. This will give you the right to
say you have a patent pending, lend you some measure of protection
while you pursue which avenues are best for you, and until you have
weighed your options carefully. For a small fee, much smaller
than a full patent costs, you can gain the peace of mind of knowing
that your idea is protected, at least for one year.
Creative Finesse can assist you with the preparation and filing of
your provisional patent.
Promoting Your Business or Website?
Don't forget the tried and true resources that are available to you
and most importantly, are FREE! Be sure to list in
yellowpages.com, local.com and also froogle local. Your local
potential clients can drive that most valued "foot traffic" and
spread the good news about you too. |
Desire a Government
Contract? So do many
others. But in order to obtain one you must first register
with the
CCR (Central Contract Registration). This is a very
important step toward becoming an accepted vendor with the
government. There is quite a bit of information that will be
required and you also have to obtain a
DUNS
number, but if you have a service or product that you want to offer
to the "big boys" then you must undergo this process. It isn't
too difficult and it could be well worth your time and energy.
Looking for Business Training?
I have personally taken advantage of
the training offered courtesy of
SkillPath.
They also offer you an option to sign up for their very
informative E-letter. They say "Over the
years, SkillPath has grown to become the premier provider
of business training in the United States, Canada,
Australia, New Zealand and the UK. When we launched the
company in 1989, we offered 82 seminars. Today we deliver
more than 20,000 "how-to" sessions to over 500,000 people

a try if it is business training that you seek.
